Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal entity name] ("we", "us"), operator of BillBahi at https://www.billbahikhaata.com. By creating an account you accept them. If you use BillBahi for a firm or company, you confirm you may bind it.
1. What BillBahi does
BillBahi is an online bookkeeping tool. It helps you record business expenses, capture transactions, bills and statements from emails and files you provide, suggest which bill belongs to which payment, run automated review checks ("audits"), and share your records with a Chartered Accountant (CA) you choose.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law.
- You must give accurate details and verify your email address and mobile number. We may suspend unverified or inaccurate accounts.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at support@example.com straight away if you suspect misuse.
- One person per account. Firms should give each staff member their own account.
3. Email capture and connected mailboxes
- Email capture only starts after you give separate consent. It covers emails you forward to your BillBahi address, and messages matching your filter in a mailbox you connect (Gmail or Microsoft Outlook, read-only).
- You confirm you are entitled to share those emails and attachments with us, including any information about other people in them.
- You can change the filter, disconnect a mailbox, change your forwarding address or withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal stops future processing. It does not delete what was already captured unless you delete it or your account.
- Anyone who learns your forwarding address could send email to it. Keep it private, review captured items, and rotate the address if it leaks. Captured items are marked for your review and bill matches are suggestions until you accept them.
4. CA access
- You decide whether a CA can access your ledger and at what level (view only, review & audit, or full bookkeeping). You can change or remove access at any time. Actions by your CA are recorded in your access log.
- If you are a CA: you may only invite people who are, or who you reasonably expect to become, your clients. You are solely responsible for your professional services, engagement terms, fees, independence and compliance with the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, the ICAI Code of Ethics and applicable law. We are not a party to your engagement with your client.
- Client data you can see belongs to your client. Use it only to serve that client, keep it confidential, and stop using it when access is removed.
5. Your data
- You own the data and files you put into BillBahi. You give us a limited licence to host, copy, process and display it only to run the service for you and for the people you share it with, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- You can download all your data or delete your account from Settings at any time.
- You are responsible for checking the accuracy of entries, amounts, categories and GST details before relying on them or filing any return. Keep your original bills and statements as required by law. BillBahi is not a substitute for statutory record-keeping obligations.
6. Automated reading
Bills, alerts and statements may be read by automated tools, including an AI model provided by Anthropic, to extract amounts, dates, vendors, GST and similar details. Automated reading can be wrong. Suggested categories, matches and audit findings are prompts for you and your CA to check, not conclusions.
7. Acceptable use
Do not: upload anything you don't have the right to share; attempt to access other users' data; probe, scan or disrupt the service; reverse-engineer it except as permitted by law; use it to send spam or for any unlawful purpose, including evading tax or falsifying records; or upload malware.
8. Fees
BillBahi is currently offered free of charge during early access. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before introducing fees for features you use, and you may export your data and close your account before any fee applies.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep BillBahi available and secure but do not promise uninterrupted service. Third-party services (email providers, SMS, AI, hosting) may change or fail. We may change features. We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app at least 15 days in advance, and continued use after that means you accept them.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using BillBahi and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, create security risk, or where required by law, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it. On closure you may request an export within 30 days, unless closure was for unlawful use.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law: BillBahi is provided "as is"; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, tax, interest, penalties or disallowances arising from reliance on the service; and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or ₹10,000 if you paid nothing). Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud.
12. Indemnity
You will compensate us for claims by third parties arising from content you upload without the right to do so, or from your breach of these terms. CAs will compensate us for claims by their clients arising from the CA's professional services.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Gurugram, Haryana, India have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any consumer-protection rights you may have to sue where you live. Please contact our Grievance Officer first (see the Privacy Policy). We aim to resolve complaints within 30 days.
